Book covers designed by Penguin Books

The design of these book covers incorporate a landmark or trait of a particular city such as the 'Leaning tower of Pisa', the Eiffel Tower in Paris and the 'big red bus' of London. The use of one of the letters to make an image stand out from the others makes this piece easy to the eye, yet show how the letter looks or portrays and image iconic to the place and shows a simple use of design to move the letters and change the shape and length and angle. The change in colour also makes the images more understandable.

I really like these book covers because its so simple yet many people would never have thought to have done so, it uses simple colours laid out on a blank page to clearly have the full affect of the tittle.

Cover designs are probably the hardest thing for designers to design because it should show the heart and the soul of the book in one single image. Amazing book cover designs make us think, laugh, cry, smile, or contemplate about life. We all know that in the past 75 years, Penguin has created some of the most iconic book covers in history. They've pretty much covered everything in literature. Such as old classics like 'Sherlock Holmes', 'Robin Hood' and many others.
